RRSDI Sends 10 Students to Virginia Debate Academy Camp
In June, a regional delegation consisting of three representatives from The Richmond Forum attended the 2019 National Speech and Debate Association Competition.
Local Coaches Attend National Conference
We were excited to sponsor four coaches from Cosby HS, George Wythe HS, James River HS, and Manchester HS to attend the National Speech & Debate Association Coaches Conference in Colorado Springs, August 4-6th.
Scott Wunn Meets With RF Educators to Help Develop Curriculum
Scott Wunn, Executive Director of the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA), joined The Richmond Forum and local educators for our launch of the Richmond Region Speech & Debate Initiative (RRSDI) in May.
Through our partnership with the Virginia Debate Academy and with the VCU School of Business, who generously donated space, ten students from area schools were able to attend the week-long debate camp at no cost to them in early August.
Get Involved: 2019-2020 Team Sponsorships
This fall, the Richmond Region Speech & Debate Initiative will be awarding grants in support of speech and debate programs at public high schools in Richmond, Chesterfield, Henrico, and Hanover. Use an RRSDI grant to take your team to the next level or to start a team at your school. Applications are available now for the 2019-2020 school year.
