Happy National Speech and Debate Education Day!
Our Richmond Region Speech & Debate Initiative (RRSDI) has had a terrific year despite all of the challenges this pandemic has handed us. We are grateful for our coaches and students who didn’t give up while navigating the very new virtual world of education. Though it has been an incredibly tough year for all of us we thank our dedicated coaches who learned how to navigate virtual instruction while maintaining a team. We are proud of the students who have participated this year when it would have been easy to sit this season out. And we are grateful for all of our top notch volunteer judges who gave their time to allow students to compete.
In addition to all of their hard work, we’ve also been hard at work learning how to run virtual competitions, tirelessly recruiting volunteers, and planning for the continued growth of our speech and debate teams next year. We are optimistic that teams will qualify for state and national competitions this season and we are excited and honored to be part of this great community.
